Back Walkover Blues!

Having trouble with your back walkover?
Let me share some of my tips on how I've been practicing my back walkover.

  1. Make sure you stretch your back. Doing back-bends everyday will help.
  2. Stretch your splits! If you have a good split in the air, it'll be easier to reach for the ground.
  3. Practice your kick. A strong kick equals a good walkover! Push off one good leg and reach with the other.
  4. Kicking off objects will help you get the motion of "going over". Use a small table, a box, or even the wall to help you go over.
  5. As you get better, find smaller objects to kick over (smaller table, going lower on the wall)
